This is a honeybee killed by herbicide. The pollen on her legs came from dandelions. Her tongue remained out, a sign of pesticide poisoning. In early spring, dandelions, wildflowers, and fruit trees are the only food sources bees have until mid-June. Yet many are killed when lawns are sprayed for weeds. Please dont spray until after blackberries bloom. What we call weeds, bees call survival. And without bees, our food crops disappearand so do we.
